We had a great time at the Butler IT Governance, Risk and Compliance Strategy Forum yesterday. There were presentations on IT GRC from companies like Sun and Planview, and of course our presentation, which you can download here.

Tim Jennings from Butler gave a particularly insightful talk, which emphasised two key areas of GRC: the need for a more top-down, risk-based approach, and the need for organizations to focus on a centralised platform for Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC).

In our presentation, we focused very much on both these themes with a discussion of how the overall costs of risk and compliance management can be reduced by utilizing a common GRC platform. We talked about some of the features of the platform, and discussed its benefits. A challenge for many companies during these cash strapped times is how to get the benefits of a GRC platform without shelling out millions on in house installation and deployment. We got a great reception for our approach to delivering GRC applications on a cloud computing platform like Force.com, enabling organizations to implement GRC solutions in an incremental, low cost, low risk way.
